The Enemies Playbook Exposed
By Pastor James
We will be exposing the enemy’s playbook and battle plan. Our focus will be on navigating around Satan’s landmines—the traps and snares designed to deceive us. These tactics attempt to trick God’s people into stepping on the trigger of a landmine, ultimately leading to self-destruction.
As warriors, we must remain focused on God’s purpose for our lives. It’s essential to stay vigilant and aware of our surroundings. Distractions can easily lead us off course, making us vulnerable to the traps and snares set by the enemy. We need to keep our eyes on the path ahead, ensuring we don’t step into landmines that could cause us to falter. By doing so, we can stay strong and resilient, fulfilling our calling with clarity and purpose.
The battlefield is filled with distractions, but it’s often the hidden dangers that pose the greatest threat. These unseen hazards can catch us unaware, leading to devastating consequences. Staying alert and focused on our purpose is crucial for navigating safely through the challenges we face.
The most perilous moment for us as warriors is when we begin to stray from God. Trying to live with one foot in the Kingdom and the other in the world leads to disastrous consequences. This delicate balance creates a vulnerability the enemy eagerly exploits. True strength and resilience come from fully committing our hearts and minds to God’s purpose, leaving behind the allure of a world that seeks to pull us away from His light. Staying rooted in our faith is our best defense against the temptations that lead us astray.
When we convince ourselves that we can keep secrets or hide aspects of our lives, we set ourselves up for trouble and heartache. Warriors, let me spare you this misconception: you cannot hide anything from God. Every secret we think we’ve buried has the potential to grow into something that can harm us. Bringing our struggles into the light fosters healing and strengthens our resolve to fight against the enemy’s plans. Transparency before God is vital for living fully in His purpose.
Believing we can live in the world while simultaneously living a holy life is a misconception. One lifestyle negates the other. It’s akin to striking a match and immediately dousing it with water—rendering our efforts ineffective. If we act like the world six days a week and then put on a facade of holiness in church, it betrays our true commitment. Instead, we must strive for authenticity in our walk, allowing faith to permeate every aspect of our lives. Only then can we truly embody the warrior spirit we are meant to have.
Newsflash: the only one you’re fooling is yourself. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking, “Well, I can repent.” That’s a landmine that will blow up in your face every time. Yes, repentance and forgiveness are real, but there is a difference when you are knowingly sinning. BOOM! Landmine detonation. When this trap explodes, shame, guilt, and regret create a separation between you and God—a shockwave that the enemy delights in causing.
When a landmine detonates, it’s not just us who notice the damage. Those closest to us often detect it first, and the impact reverberates through their lives as well. Our actions affect more than just ourselves; they affect everyone around us.
The enemy’s landmines include pride, jealousy, fear, and compromise. These trip wires trigger shockwaves of offense, discouragement, and insecurity. A significant danger is compromise—diluting or dismissing God’s Word. Sin is sin; there’s no such thing as “kinda” sin. Satan’s schemes are designed to separate us from God and disrupt our godly relationships.
Satan’s jealousy was revealed when he challenged God, questioning why humanity was created for fellowship with Him. His ultimate plan has always been separation—from God, from each other, and from our purpose. This separation leads to isolation, which opens the door for the enemy’s infiltration.
One of the most dangerous landmines is pride. Pride convinces us we can navigate life without God, fostering self-reliance instead of humble dependence. It blinds us to the reality that every blessing and gift comes from Him. Pride leads to arrogance, making us unteachable and resistant to guidance, which alienates us from God and others.
The very pride that led to Satan’s fall is the same tactic he uses against us. Recognizing and confronting this landmine is essential to staying connected to God and thriving in His purpose. As Proverbs 16:18 says, “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
Another dangerous landmine is fear. Fear distracts us, amplifies our circumstances, and shifts our focus away from God. But Joshua 1:9 reminds us, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Fear is a tactic of the enemy to strip us of our authority and confidence in God’s promises.
As warriors, we must rely on spiritual discernment—our divine “sonar”—to detect and navigate around these landmines. Ask God for wisdom, knowledge, and revelation in every circumstance. Stay humble, stay armored, and stay close to God. If you stumble, repent, grab your sword, and get back in the fight. God will navigate and expose every trap the enemy sets before you.
2 Corinthians 2:11 reminds us, “…lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.” Now that we know the enemy’s playbook, it’s time to seek, destroy, and walk boldly in victory.
Warriors, remember this: we are not alone. Lift one another up and stand together on the battlefield. Encourage one another, knowing that God has equipped us with everything we need to fulfill our purpose. Together, we are more than conquerors!
