Take An Axe To The Root.
My heart is stirred. I had a hard time sleeping last night. I feel a real heaviness for the Body of Christ right now. If you don’t stay in the Spirit it can almost feel a bit overwhelming. Have you ever felt like this?
There are many plans of the enemy to cause us to be distracted, feel defeated, divided, and to be discouraged by so many things right now. We cannot allow these things to take root. We must keep our eyes on Jesus!
It begs the question, “Are we doing what the Bible says to do?” Are we making the impact we are supposed to be making? Are we making disciples and getting people on fire for God? Or, has much of what is going on become something else?
Has biblical Christianity become boring for some that everything needs to be exotic and sensational these days? Are we looking for hooks and marketing strategies rather than spending time in our prayer closet? Are we seeking God’s heart with anguish?
Many people today have mistaken talent for anointing and the counterfeit has become so good that even true believers are having a hard time discerning which is which. This will only get worse as the hour gets later. Meanwhile, the enemy’s plans for our nation and world are advancing and much of the Body is not countering them with the biblical tools God has afforded us. We must push back now! We are in a spiritual battle!
I am not calling out any one person. I’m actually searching my own heart here also. We are in such an important time in history, and yet I’m afraid we are not grasping this moment and the full extent of what is going on here. I feel we must step outside of the rat race and look at our fruit and heart. Are we doing enough? Are we doing what we should be doing?
If I don’t search my own heart daily, I too can be caught up in all of it. We all can. That’s why God is stirring us.
Many years ago I made a promise to God. I had an encounter with Him and His Holy Spirit. It forever changed my life. Since then it’s always been a struggle to find real. I know many of you are, but I also know if you are, you’ve had a similar experience.
I’ve seen so much “stuff” and now we are in such a polarized time in our world that we need others of like-mind around us. So what do we do?
We must do what God has called us to do.
We need to disconnect from anything that is not Holy. We need to all search our hearts and find God’s heart. We need to dig deep into His Word and hear His voice clearly. We need to get on our knees and in our prayer rooms and cry out to God! We need to catch the fire of God once again and get rid of anything that is impure. This is why God has called us to consecrate and come out from among them!
Friends, either we believe God is real or we don’t. Many have got caught up in vein imaginations. Many that were once solid have been allured by the things of this world.
We need to take an axe to the root and repent. All of us.
Being a Christian means being a follower of Christ and His teachings. If there are areas that don’t line up…take an ax to them. Cut them out and get back on track. Course correction is a regular thing in the life of a person who has a heart for God. Just look at King David. We need to be good repenters.
As for a personal application to this all, when and if something grieves my heart or makes me feel wrong about something, I am also going to take an axe to it. If I’m going to make it, I must stay in God’s will, and be on fire for Him, or I will not be able to complete the mission. I cannot allow outside occurrences to quench the fire of God or enchant me and pull me off course.
This isn’t about anything other than God. This is a relationship with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. If it’s not about Kingdom and souls, I don’t want it.
Here is how I will end this post…if you have gotten off course, correct your trajectory now! Course correct! Take an axe to the root of this thing. Don’t let a day go by that you stay in any place of compromise! I am up early with this word burning in my heart!
Every man and woman will stand before God and give an account.
Many start off well but get caught up. I’ve seen it so many times. It’s not about popularity. You can have all of the accolades of man and yet lose the audience of One. If you do that, you have lost your way.
Let’s all search our hearts today. I know many of you feel this. We must be a pure stream. Let’s get back to the main mission and on fire for God. Let’s please God, not man! In Jesus name!
